After sitting around the house wasting away in an endless sea of employment job postings for 2 LONG years, I decided to do something I enjoy, like creating something fun and meaningful. While attending the Job Connect + class from the Burbank Library, I got some great advice on thinking outside the box and do something other then submit hundreds of job applications to FAKE job postings. Since I’ve spent all my life in Los Angeles and the last 18 years in Burbank, I decided to write about my life living, working, and raising a family in this great city. Here is a snippet of my life and drive to write about life in Burbank.
As a kid growing up in the San Fernando Valley, I was always excited by technology, games, and Mad Magazines.  I grew up riding my bike to the video arcade with a pocket of quarters I’d collected over the week.  I was always in awe of video games, science, and the new-fangled computers making their way into people’s homes. I took my first computer programming class in High School (U.S. Grant HS) using the old Apple II+ computers.  Of course my devious friends and I would be playing games when the teacher wasn’t looking.  There wasn’t an Alt-Tab back then, so we just turned down the brightness on the monitor when he walked by.
Years later, after a round in the Air Force, I got my bachelors degree from Long Beach DeVry in Computer Information Science.   The technology behind computers and programming keeps me challenged every day and allows me to constantly be on the lookout for new techniques of problem solving.  In this ever changing world of techno-babble, mind-rot, and wacky meme’s, I still go back to more conventional ways of relaxation; like yoga, playing video games, or even thumbing through an old Mad Magazine or comic book.
Now that my wife and I have raised two wonderful children in this fine city, it’s time give back some of my life experiences and put Burbank on Exposition as a great place to live, work and raise a family.
